Recovering VI

‘Recovering VI’ is an original monotype by Carolyn Murphy from a series of one-off images suggesting the area around Winter Hill and Rivington Pike, north of Manchester. These works are based on original sketches I made in this fragile environment, which has been severely damaged by wildfire. Created in layers, using paper masks, these works embrace chance, explore edges and suggest depth.

Image size is approximately 33 x 29.5 cm at its widest point, hand printed on Japanese paper, signed, titled and numbered (1/1) on the front. The paper size is approximately 59.5 x 46cm and the artwork is backed with board and wrapped in cellophane.
