Prospect Printmakers joined Sally & Brett on BBC Radio Lancashire today to talk about printmaking.

Carolyn Murphy joined Alan Birch (left) of Prospect Studio and fellow printmaker Peter Cave (right) in the BBC Radio Lancashire studio in Blackburn to talk about their new Pennine exhibition. The printmaking exhibition runs until 17 June at The Whitaker Art Gallery & Museum in Rawtenstall.

It was also a great chance to talk about the therapeutic benefits of printmaking. The team shared information on Alan’s regular workshops with listeners to Radio Lancashire. Alan Birch runs printmaking classes from his studio in Waterfoot, Rossendale.

New ‘The Pennines’ printmaking exhibition

A new exhibition of Pennines-inspired work from Alan Birch’s Prospect Printmakers opened on Saturday 21 April in Rawtenstall’s Whitaker Art Gallery and Museum. This group exhibition includes Carolyn Murphy’s latest linocut ‘ Halo’.

The Pennines exhibition runs from 21 April until 17 June 2018. It includes new work by 20 artists in a wide range of printmaking media. All work is for sale. For further details see information on the Whitaker’s website

The Opening on Saturday 21 April was well attended, on a glorious sunny day.
