A Scream of Swifts

A Scream of Swifts is an installation by Carolyn Murphy, created for the Intersect exhibition in Stratford, East London (Oct / Nov 2025). It reflects on the 60% loss of swift number in the UK in one human generation. The work consists of 2 layers of linocut swifts, hand printed onto tissue paper, with perforated and laser cut swifts in the lower section. Suspended from a baton, the work measures approximately 48 cm x 1400 cm.
